Selects Code of (Dance) Ethics

Welcome to SELECTS. We are a pop-up dance party experience that’s dedicated to bringing you the finest grooves from around the world with like-minded people at incredible venues (“the best dance music you’ve never heard”).

Although we are all about having a good time, it’s never at the expense of your or someone else’s personal comfort or safety.

We are all about positivity and respect. We all work long days, are dealing with our own challenges, experiences – we get it.

This is a place to step away, to dance, to gather friends or come through solo to enjoy yourself over some proper dance music of all kinds with like-minded, positive people.

By attending a SELECTS event, you agree to:

1. SELECTS code. | “By putting on this wristband you agree to the role of hipshaker, tastemaker and peacekeeper. A culture that vibes, thrive.” This is simple: All about respecting and looking out for each other. You agree to enjoy yourself but not at the expect of respecting the personal space of those around you as well as the venue’s physical space we are gathered in. For too long, skeezy people ruin an otherwise great time… So come in with a positive outlook and positive energy. Check the ego at the door.

2. SELECTS content. | Upon entering a SELECTS event, you agree to the potential use of your likeness for photo, video or other promotional material (we often have photographers and videographers present at each SELECTS). If for some reason you see yourself on materials that you would otherwise like removed, simply email us at: byselects@gmail.com with subject: “Promo likeness” and we’ll work to get it right for you.

3. No requests. Ever. | We don’t take requests. If you are out there wishing for a song you know, you’re, respectfully, at the wrong spot (physically and mentally).

4. Dance. | Open your ears, mind and hips. Nobody is watching. Nobody cares.
